Michelle Sanchez joined IYI in January of 2010. Her primary role is to build relationships with IYI’s current and potential constituents in the southern Indiana region and connect them with resources and other community efforts to support youth. Prior to joining IYI’s team in January of 2010, she spent two years as a job developer with Arbor Education and Training, serving many of the same counties she currently serves for IYI. A graduate of Purdue University, Michelle is a Madison native and has worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson County. She has also coached volleyball at the middle school level and continues to officiate volleyball at all levels. Michelle has tutored students in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program at Madison Consolidated High School and spent time as part of the adjunct faculty for Ivy Tech State College, teaching basic math and algebra, as well as a course in developing college and life success skills. For several years, Michelle served as a business development specialist for the Small Business Development Center of Indiana in Madison. She has a huge heart for the unique needs of youth within our state as a result of her experience with youth from various demographics.
