"Managing Your Digital Footprint: How Online Reputations Impact Future Scholarship, College and Job Prospects"
June 14, 2012 - 1p EST/12p CST
Presented by: Dan Kent and Don Kent, Net Literacy. Internet safety is a topic that continues to evolve as teens interact with the Internet in new ways and as the consequences of their online behavior increase. Because teens’ online reputations can seriously affect scholarship, college, and job prospects, it’s vital that they know how to manage their “digital footprints.” As a youth worker, you can help them.
This interactive webinar will highlight new ways to start challenging discussions about Internet safety issues with teens. You’ll be supplied with online resources and a training exercise that helps teens teach other teens about the importance of being safe on the Internet.
We’ll conclude with a look towards Internet safety challenges in the future – both for teens and for youth-serving organizations.

Thank you for your interest in viewing the IYI Webinar, “Protecting Children through Mandated Reporting,” presented by Amy Russell, Deputy Director, National Child Protection Training Center.
This webinar contains one error in content. During the Webinar, the speaker presented information on the Indiana mandatory reporting law that was incorrect. After the Webinar, the speaker reviewed the law and found two mandatory reporting statutes. The speaker only presented the earlier statute – covering licensed professionals’ mandatory reporting. The second statute indicates that all Indiana residents are mandated reporters. Please be aware that adults in Indiana who are aware of child abuse and do not report it can be prosecuted.
"Thanks to those who pursued clarifying the truth, to Amy for the fantastic training she provided, and to IYI for bringing not only this follow-up, but the truly convenient and helpful forum to us. I am so grateful. And I'm sure everyone who heard it then and in the future will benefit, especially the children who will ultimately reap the protective benefits." -Cheryl Miller, Shelby Co.
